I didn't vote for him, but his position on at least one "important" issue is clearly correct: the NCAA needs a football playoff system.
The latest top 25 polls put Oklahoma ahead of Texas and Texas ahead of Texas Tech. These teams all played each other and Texas beat OU while Tech beat Texas. Only OU ahead of Tech matches the results on the field.
Tech is learning the hard way that early losses don't count as much as the late season ones do. It also pays to have a long history of success: the pollsters will punish Johnny Come Lately types when given the chance. Despite a number of impressive wins, Tech has fallen from grace and now sits at #7. They will likely finish with only one loss but face an early morning wake up call at the Cotton Bowl come New Years Day.
Most disturbing, my beloved Aggies are nowhere to be found in the polls (and with good reason). Perhaps we can yet be relevant with a Thanksgiving miracle against t.u. (Hey, we did it last year.)

One woman at church this morning pointed out to me that we didn't lose yesterday. My response: "hey, you do what you have to do, even if it means not playing a game on Saturday." Hard to believe that as bad as we've been the past few years, we actually have a 2-game winning streak against Texas right now.
